About

The engineers you would hire, without the wait

Influxient is an engineering partner for teams who need experienced hands faster than they can hire them. We work inside your team rather than alongside it as a vendor: your repository, your cloud account, your standards, and a release you can use every two weeks.

We work in your repository and your working hours, wherever your team sits.

How it started

We started with a complaint we kept hearing

It came from the same kind of person every time. A head of engineering with a roadmap they believed in, a hiring process that could not fill fast enough to execute it, and a bad experience with the obvious alternative. The traditional answer to that problem is a large team, a long discovery phase and junior engineers learning the domain on the client's budget. It solves the headcount problem by creating a delivery one.

Influxient was built to be the opposite of that. Experienced people only, and no bench to keep busy. Work that starts in week one rather than after a month of workshops. Fortnightly releases you can open and use, because working software is the only status report that cannot be massaged. And a willingness to tell you when the thing you asked for is not the thing you need, which is the part most suppliers cannot afford to do.

We are early, and we say so. Our current engagements are under NDA, so this site describes our method rather than naming clients, and every claim on it is one we can evidence. If you would rather work with a firm that can show you a logo wall, we understand. If you would rather see how someone thinks before you hire them, keep reading.

Talk to a solutions architect
  • Small and experienced beats large and layered

Three engineers who have solved the problem before will outrun twelve who have not. We staff thin deliberately, and we do not have a bench to keep busy.

  • The risky part goes first

Engagements rarely fail at the end. They fail because the hard question, will retrieval be accurate enough and will this integration hold, got deferred until the budget was gone.

  • Working software is the only status report

A deck describing progress is not progress. Every two weeks you get something deployed that you can use, or we have not done our job.

  • Saying no is part of the service

A meaningful share of problems that arrive framed as AI problems are data quality or process problems. We would rather lose the engagement than sell you a model that cannot work.

What we solve

The four problems we are usually called about

Not an exhaustive list, but if your problem does not resemble one of these, it is worth a conversation before either of us assumes we are a fit.

The roadmap is real, the hiring is not

You know what to build and roughly how long it should take. What you do not have is four senior engineers starting on Monday. We are the version of that you can turn on in a fortnight and off at the end of any two-week cycle.

The AI project that never left the demo

A prototype impressed everyone in a meeting and then stalled, because nobody had answered whether retrieval was accurate enough, what it costs at real volume, or what happens when the model is confidently wrong. We answer those first, and we will tell you when the answer is that it does not work.

The system nobody wants to touch

It runs the business, the people who wrote it have gone, and every change is a negotiation with an unknown. We map it, run the new path beside the old one, and move traffic a slice at a time rather than betting the quarter on a single weekend cutover.

The platform that has to survive an audit

Access control, lineage and evidence are the requirement, not a phase at the end. We build them in from the first commit, because retrofitting them into something that already has users costs several times more than doing it first.

In writing

What we commit to

These are contract terms, not values-page decoration. If we break one of them, you have recourse.

Experienced engineers only

Everyone on your engagement has shipped and run production systems. No juniors learning on your budget.

Your cloud, your data

We deploy into your VPC. Your data, indices, and model artefacts stay yours.

A release every two weeks

Every cycle ends with working software in production, not a status deck. No release, no invoice.

You own everything

Code, infrastructure, and docs are yours from the first commit. No lock-in, no exit fee.

Mutual NDA before scoping

Signed before any technical conversation, so you can describe the real problem.

Leave-behind documentation

Decision records and runbooks written as we go, so your team can run it without us.
