Privacy policy
What we collect through this website, why, and how to have it removed.
1. Who we are
Influxient (“we”, “us”) is a software engineering firm. This policy covers only information collected through this website. Information handled inside a client engagement is governed by the contract and data processing agreement for that engagement, not by this page.
2. What we collect
We collect only what you actively send us:
- Enquiry details. Your name, work email, company name, the practice area you selected, and the project description you wrote in the contact form or the on-page contact widget.
- Chat messages. Anything you type into the assistant, along with your name and email if you give them. The assistant runs on Google Gemini, so your messages are sent to Google to generate a reply. Please do not put confidential or commercially sensitive detail into the chat. Describe the shape of the problem and we will sign an NDA before going further.
- Newsletter address. If you sign up in the footer, your email address, so we can send you occasional notes. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Analytics. Only if you accept the cookie banner. Google Analytics then records standard page and device telemetry, and sets cookies to do so. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or run ads.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all unless you accept analytics. Nothing from Google is loaded before you choose. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its _ga cookies to tell repeat visits apart; they expire after two years. We use no advertising cookies and operate no cookie paywall.
3. How your enquiry is handled
Form submissions are emailed to our own inbox. They are not stored in a database on this website, and they are not passed to a CRM or a marketing automation platform. Your message is read by the engineers who would work with you.
4. Why we process it
To reply to your enquiry, scope potential work, and keep records of business correspondence. Our lawful basis for that is legitimate interest in responding to a request you initiated, and consent where you gave it explicitly on the form. For analytics the lawful basis is consent alone, which is why nothing loads until you give it, and why you can withdraw it above at any time.
5. Who else sees it
Three processors handle data on our behalf, under their own terms:
- Our email and hosting providers, for delivering and storing enquiries.
- Google (Gemini), which receives chat messages in order to generate replies. On the free tier Google may use submitted content to improve its products, and its reviewers may read it, which is why the chat asks you not to share confidential detail.
- Google (Analytics), but only if you accept the cookie banner. Both involve transfers outside the UK.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we share it with no one else unless we are legally required to.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained while a commercial conversation is live and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we have context if you come back to us. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any point.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and held in access-controlled systems limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If you need to discuss something genuinely sensitive, ask us for a mutual NDA before you send it rather than putting it in this form.
8. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our processing it. Email info@influxient.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
